Rumors around Volkswagen Group intra brand sharing have suggested that the upcoming Q3 will share a fair deal with the next-generation Cupra Terramar. And while we’ve published Q3 test mule photos before, comparing them with these latest photos of the Cupra Terramar give us a better idea of just how much sharing will be done… or perhaps where more extreme variants such as the RS Q3 may also end up in final form.
Terremar is expected to make use of mild-hybrid and PHEV drivetrains, so it will be interesting to see where US-specification Q3s weigh in this regard. The current Q3 is a 2.0 TFSI only affair, and Audi just confirmed the upcoming A5 and S5 will forego mild hybrid drivetrains when they come to the USA unlike those they will offer in Europe. Even still, America is a crossover heavy market where a PHEV variant (at least) would seem to make sense.
